CCCN Website info:

Our site is still undergoing changes. It should be filled with more features for our visitors soon.

For maximum accessibility and brower compatability, our site is being built with valid XHTML 1.1 and CSS2. It also conforms to section 508 and a WCAG 1.0 AAA rating. It has full support for browser-based font-resizing, and is 100% readable even in text-based browsers.

Please check back soon.

To the right you'll find News, Announcements, or any other content we wish to promote broadly. In this initial version, we've used the right hand column for links to important organizations within our area.

The banners (images) may change each time the page loads and can rotate through a list in an order that we determine. When a business or organization makes a significant donation to CCCN, we show our appreciation by displaying their banner as a link to their website. The sequence and duration of banner ads can be managed using a web application.

CCCN's Outreach Committee is responsible for maintaining good relations with our sponsors and for cultivating new sponsors. The comittee's input will determine sponsor ads snd links.

In addition to providing visitors a way to search or browse our directory, this Businesses section will highlight local news, articles, announcements, and issues that may be of interest to business owners. For example, an update on the closing of the main road through Milltown could include links to who to contact for more info and action, a link to a discussion forum on the subject, and links to impact studies provided by Economic Development.

The Directory and its sub-sections and listings are built from an open source web directory application. Someone will need to be recruited (or hired) to build/update our initial directory database, and maintenance of the entries will flow from Membership maintenance and Community Outreach.

In addition to providing community Members with their own personal pages (blogs, photo albums, etc.), we may also want to stay in touch with them via a Newsletter, Community Calendar, and by hosting discussions about important (popular) topics in the community. The discussion Forums, Newsletter, and Calendar can all be managed on-line using web applications.

It will eventually be easy for people to make financial Donations to CCCN. A payment gateway will need to be set up, as well as a way to track and respond to financial donations.

Additionally, we are looking for ways to accommodate those willing to Volunteer their time and services. We are working on a process to formally recognize the contributions of volunteers.

The Contact CCCN page will also contain links to some FAQ's so that users don't have to use email unnecessarily. It is also possible to use open source software to assign "help tickets" and automatic email confirmations to each submission.
